cool camcorder, great zoom (30X), must have lastest dvd burner to read DVD-RAM.
problems when finalizing/creating top menu. won't make thumbnails for all scenes. also, i haven't found video editing software that works on the files it creates! if i can't figure that out, it's going back, unfortunately.

The DVD-RAM doesn't require formating or finalizing, there was one in the box with it. Reading the manual does help sometimes, didn't help loading the driver since I had paly a bit to get to next part.

My system reconized it as long as it was playback mode and had the power supply plug in. The diver loaded from XP and treated it as another DVD drive. All my programs worked with it with no problem.

If price is what someone wants then a mini tape camcorder they are cheap for a reason.

you have to format the mini dvd then after recording you have to finalize it before it will play on a dvd player or in a computer

camera doesn't come with cd and is not compatible with my computer either, nor will dvd's play back on any external player. it's good for family gatherings but not for film editing or working with other computer programs

just purchased and am really disappointed, doesn't seem to be compatible with either my computer, or my dvd players, good thing there's a return policy with the purchase of this video camera.
